Ways we raise money to support initiatives at BSES.
We fundraise to ensure that all 600 elementary students have access to extra educational and recreational opportunities many families cannot afford—like field trips, books, school events, staff appreciation and reimbursements, school spirit wear, and the 4th grade picnic. With nearly 40% of Bermudian Springs families qualifying for free and reduced breakfast & lunch, the BSES PTO strives to create meaningful experiences that spark curiosity, build community, and support learning inside & outside the classroom for all learners.
FALL FUNDRAISER
Race for Education
Race for Education gets students moving and raises money to support in-school learning resources! Parents return a sheet of mailing labels with the addresses of family & friends, and the PTO will mail a personalized letter from your child’s classroom requesting a donation!
In mid-October, all elementary students participate in a grade-level fun run “race” on the district track for 45-minutes. Students run to the beat of high-energy music over the loudspeakers, and receive lap bracelets to track their running distance, a free water bottle, a healthy snack, and other prizes!
Our school allows parents to walk with/run with their child, and school admin will communicate the pre-registration process ahead of Race Day. However, only cleared volunteers with prior approval and BSSD staff members may assist students other than their own by handing out race bracelets to students, refill water bottles, distribute apples (donated by Peters Orchards), etc. on Race Day.
SPRING FUNDRAISER
Read-A-Thon
Read-A-Thon is a literacy-focused fundraiser that strengthens reading skills and raises money for all the things that make learning fun & engaging at BSES! Students will earn cool prizes for completing reading challenges on the tracking sheet provided, and ask family & friends for donations to support their reading & education at Bermudan Springs Elementary School.
SALES FUNDRAISER
Marianna’s Sub Sale
New in 2025! Parents received order forms in November to sell Marianna’s Subs & Pizzas, and return their order form and single check payment (payable to BSES PTO) to their child’s homeroom teacher by the due date. Order pick-up will be held in December. The PTO receives $4 for every item sold.

Bermudian Apparel Sale
The PTO partners with 2theTee Outfitters to hold a Bermudian Apparel Sale twice each year (September/February). We receive a percentage of each sale made.
COMMUNITY NIGHT FUNDRAISERS
Parents Night Out
Two times per school year, we team up with Empower Martial Arts in Hanover to host a totally epic Parents Night Out event on a Saturday from 5pm-9pm. Parents will receive info to register and pay a fee of $10 (additional fee for pizza) to drop off their K-5th grade student for an action-packed night of martial arts lessons, games, LEGO building, and a movie! Enjoy a few hours of peaceful downtime while your kiddo goes wild (safely) with their friends at EMA!

Restaurant Nights
Once or twice per school year, we hold a fundraiser at a local business in the community and receive a percentage of sales for driving traffic to that business. In the past, we have held these types of fundraisers at D & S Produce, and Sweet Frog, and Tropical Treat.

Yearbook
Businesses can make a donation to be recognized as a sponsor in the yearbook. These donations help us to keep the purchase price of the yearbook low so all families may purchase one without financial strain.

Classroom Grants
Since 2022, Sodium Dental has generously funded our classroom grants budget each year. This fund enables our teachers & staff to submit larger requests benefitting more students. Recent classroom grants include: chick incubators for 3rd grade, flexible seating for various classrooms, games and educational resources for the Learning Support Classroom, books for a new teacher to build a classroom library, mulch for the outdoor learning space.

To help cover gaps in our annual budget, we solicit larger donations from local businesses and funding organizations.
